About MSTERA:

MSTERA is the one man project of Kevin Potschien, Germany, mainly creating a combination of IDM and indie pop. Thermostatic ran into this chap when he published a great mashup of "Metal Skin" and Jay-Z's "99 Problems" - obviously called "99 Skins" (www.soundcloud.com/mstera/99-skins-jay-z-vs-thermostatic).


MSTERA about his remix:

-- I first heard of Thermostatic when a friend of mine said that this was her perfect „Autobahn Musik" as in terms of listening to it while she´s driving. The raw sound of "Metal Skin" got me in the first second. After releasing the mashup Peter of the band approached me, asking me to send the audio file over. I've always loved to make new musical connections and later we found out that we share the same taste in music, which is why I traveled to Gothenburg to see him and the rest of the band.
-- When remixing "Animal" I took the usual remix approach - picking my favorite part of the song and highlight it in different ways. The main theme of my mix very much highlights a nearly inaudible synth line that I really liked. In the end it got quite an uplifting feel, which i try to achieve in all of my productions. I´ll be releasing more music on my SoundCloud account this year.
